Senior Pharmacy Tech

Senior Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for answering incoming calls, completing outbound calls from patients, physicians and pharmacists while maintaining quality customer service and maximizing productivity. This role is challenging and rewarding as well. Assists to identify problems and determine solutions both independently and in a group setting. Work within multiple computer systems simultaneously and respond to provide specific medication details and clinical information. In a fast-paced and highly intellectual environment, accuracy is essential.

Primary Responsibilities:

Enter prescriptions and verify appropriate information regarding coordinating with patients, pharmacists and doctor’s offices to resolve claims issues

Assist in Processing prescriptions, resolving customer issues and providing accurate information

Monitor unit doses, specialty pharmaceuticals, injectable, IV, enteral and related supplies by following state and federal regulations

Check and monitor compound medications by utilizing appropriate components, supplies in a sterile / ventilated environment

Adjacent to the Process of packing and shipping of outgoing pharmacy orders to ensure safe drug supplies

Monitor proper storage of drugs and supplies, appropriate refrigeration of perishable product, adjust calibrate pharmacy equipment, fill dispensing units

Scan documents, verify member/patient data, submit prescription orders in the computer system

Qualifications

High School Education / GED or higher

National Pharmacy Technician Certification

Licensed Pharmacy Technician legally

Preferred Skills/Experience

3-4 years of experience in sterile compounding

Ability to stand for 8 hours with intermittent breaks
